A Movie with Great Lessons in Strategy
Just yesterday, I saw the movie, “The Sound of Freedom.” I could write a long article about all the excellent demonstrations of practical strategy within it, and some day I may. Like most true stories (as opposed to fiction), the characters must deal with real situations in real ways.
And, unlike most of us in our normal lives, this movie has real “bad guys” (as the enslaved children in the movies call them) and true heroes. While my lessons seldom focus on using strategy to destroy the positions of others, this movie is the perfect example of how to do it when it is necessary: correctly positioning yourself within the minds of others so that they want to join you rather than fight you.
Be sure to say and extra two minutes for the announcement at the end, which discusses the movie’s strategy for promotion. Since the unknown movie has already outperformed supposed “blockbusters,” their methods are clearly being proven in a new age of media.
